    How do I update PubKeep?

You never need to reinstall PubKeep to get a new version. It checks for updates while it’s open and downloads them in the background.

When a new version has downloaded, PubKeep shows Update ready.

    1. Save your work.
    2. Click Restart & update now. PubKeep closes, updates, and opens again.

If you’d rather wait, click Update next time (on a Mac, Update on close). On Windows, the update installs the next time you open PubKeep from its icon or the Start menu (not by double-clicking a file). On a Mac, it installs when you quit PubKeep.

    1. Click File.
    2. At the bottom left, under the version number, click Check.
    3. If an update downloads, click Restart to install it.

The File tab with the version number and the Check button

If it says Up to date, you already have the newest version.

If you leave PubKeep open for days, or shut down the computer with it still open, it may still be on the older version. Save your work, close every PubKeep window, then open PubKeep again from the Start menu or your Applications folder.

I installed PubKeep from the Microsoft Store

Section titled “I installed PubKeep from the Microsoft Store”

If your copy came from the Microsoft Store and stays on an older version, install PubKeep with the Windows installer instead. Click “Download the Windows installer” in your license key email, or follow the install guide. Then uninstall the Microsoft Store copy so you only have one PubKeep on that computer. If PubKeep then says your license key is already in use, write to hello@pubkeep.com and we’ll sort it out.

Check that you’re connected to the internet, then click File > Check again. On a work network, ask whoever manages it to allow updates.pubkeep.com.
